Technology touches every part of your association, including members and staff. But does it ever feel like other departments are waging a war against you or each other to receive the technology or resources needed to achieve the outcome they’re looking for?
No praise when it works – all the blame when it crashes.
A divide can occur when your association has two or more main objectives that aren’t viewed in a holistic perspective. Your association might be divided by teams that support your association’s mission and current members, while other teams support business operations and the recruitment of new members/benefits to grow your association.
Technology used to be behind the scenes, but more and more associations are looking towards it to drive them and their strategic initiatives forward.
Additional technology can be a good thing, but it can also cause problems and complicate processes. Your association might have legacy systems that don’t play nice with new cloud-based platforms and it’s your task to integrate them all.
So how do you do that?
Stop the tug-of-war. In the end, when you align technology to the long-term strategic objectives of your organization, everybody wins.
