All work and no play leads to stress and a lack of challenge on the job, which is no fun for anyone. To combat burnout, we’ve implemented perks that help our team members maintain a manageable work/life balance that takes each persons’ needs into account. Meditation is more than a fad, and many of the top minds throughout the world have shared how the practice has helped them attain success. We provide our team members with a meditation bus, so finding a peaceful place is easy.

 

Body

It’s important to take care of yourself, and we know sitting behind a desk can lead to aches and pains that nothing but a massage will fix – which is why we offer massage therapy to all of our team members. And, if you want to avoid the pitfalls of sitting all day, we have standup desks available, and a variety of workspaces that allow you to get into work-mode in the setting that fits your needs best. We also plan physical challenges that get you up and moving, and provide a nutritionist and cooking demonstrations that lead to healthy living from the inside.

 

Family

We consider our team members family, but we know many of us leave our greatest loves each morning to come to work. To make sure each of our team members receive maximum family-time, we offer work from home opportunities, flexible schedules, and family-flextime that makes transitioning back to work after adding a family member easier. We strive to create a community that is family-friendly, so we offer a kids’ room, and have family-focused events offsite.

We Make Work Rewarding

Community engagement is so important, and we make it part of our culture. Last year, our team worked with 16 charities, and donated over 450 hours of service! We encourage mentorship, and we’re so proud of the lives our team has impacted through service. For example, last year, several of our team members volunteered at Code Detroit and Detroit Startup Week. Others have spent time working with students in the Oakland University Achieve Program, and they helped decorate Christmas trees for the Festival of Trees that benefits the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation for Pediatric Research.

It all comes down to you. It’s important to feel valued at work, and we know that each and every person hired has their own scale of happiness. We keep in touch throughout your employment, implementing surveys, hosting focus groups, and providing an anonymous suggestion box to gauge how we’re doing.

When you’re hired at Billhighway, we welcome you with open arms. To make you feel comfortable, we help you get to know the team by providing them with a few fun facts about you and a picture, so you’re recognized from the moment you arrive. Each month, new hires are welcome to take the floor at our company-wide meeting, where you can introduce yourself and share what makes you happy.

We know it’s important to honor the hard work our team members put in, which is why anniversaries are celebrated wholeheartedly at Billhighway! Each year, team members receive a thank-you gift, and a personalized note from our President. The five-year anniversary is met with a customized bottle of champagne and a VISA gift card, along with a team-produced presentation that highlights the team member being honored. At ten years, our loyal team members have the opportunity to take their dream vacation – with a 10-day paid sabbatical, and a bonus to make it more fun.

We commend individuals for speaking up at our monthly company-wide meetings, and our President meets regularly with each team to foster open discussions. We also have leadership meetings, so our teams can work together to solve challenges, and our doors are always open for 1:1 meetings.
